Learning an Instrument

Learning a musical instrument is one of the greatest experiences we can give young people. Of course, being able to play an instrument is of course of the driving force behind our desire for as many students as possible to have this chance, but we are also seeing an increased evidence base about the impact of musical learning on other aspects of students personal and academic development.

To support this, we also give discounts to students in receipt of pupil premium, we offer a subsidy of a third for our students studying a level 2 or 3 music course. In addition to this, we are also very lucky to have the support of the James Marshall Foundation, to whom parents can make direct applications to for funding.

Why learn an instrument?

Why not?! Our instrumental programme offers not only individual tuition, but also access to ensembles designed to support individual learning.

All students benefit from individualised support and contact with a dedicated tutor for 10 weeks each term. Lessons last 30 minutes
